On December 3rd, 2013 this Office launched the I Have Something To Say initiative to address the issues children and youth with special needs face in their daily lives.

This initiative aims to place the voice of children and youth at the center of a discussion about how our systems of care can ensure the rights of children with special needs is respected across sectors, ministries and jurisdictions.

Through a variety of activities, the Provincial Advocate team will engage children and youth with special needs to find out what their vision is of a world where all children belong, are valued and supported to realize their potential (sound familiar). The information will be used to create a strategy to elevate their voice to create change.

The representative from our local office of the Provincial Advocate will also be speaking to the current initiative noted above.
